Greater Tower for London [1890]

 – archive play for now with some uber-rare design sketches -

In 1890 some English have found that the Eiffel Tower had become an important asset for France and for Paris, noting in passing that his visitors had already reported more than the cost of its construction only during the Expo, and so they decided embarking on the construction of a tower at least as important in London.

To this end they organized a design competition to select the shape that this tower should have, there were 68 responses from across solutions with more or less inventive.

FG Archive Play – Simple and Beautiful

Join Tim Navis journey around the world from the midday sun through the blood-red sunset. Some of the artist’s inspiration, influenced by Nee Watcman’s words –

“Not by gain our life is measured.
But by what we’ve lost tis scored;
Tis not how much wine is drunken
But how much has been outpoured.
For the strength of love never standeth
In the sacrifice we bear.
He who has the greatest suffering
Ever has the most to share.”
